Miracles in December

Every child deserves to have hopes and dreams for a brighter future. They also deserve support systems and access to opportunities that will allow them to pursue the life of their dreams no matter the circumstances that impact their daily lives. Whether faced with socio-economic constraints or physical and developmental challenges, The McCloudCares Foundation seeks to be an advocate and resource for children in underserved and underrepresented communities striving to realize their dreams.

Our Miracles in December program is a community-wide initiative that seeks to bring joy to the lives of children and their families in our community during the holidays. Since its beginning in 2006, our program has answered letters to Santa from nearly 600 children throughout Northern New Jersey. The McCloudCares Foundation seeks to expand the programs reach to 1,000 children annually by 2023.

Children across all socio-economic lines deserve a chance to revel in the spirit of the holidays. Our foundation seeks to lift the burden for parents that often face having to choose between household necessities or gifts during this time of year by working with community members corporate partners and change makers to give children the holiday experience they deserve.

Our Impact

Past Miracles in December

Susan Powers, Assistant Supervisor of Support Services, Union City Board of Education

Many of our students face more barriers than the average child in an inner-city district. It’s heartwarming to see how something as simple as receiving a toy can have a significant impact on their lives year after year. The Miracles in December program lets them know that despite the physical, developmental or financial challenges they face, they deserve to experience the feeling of being rewarded.

Joanne Russo, Teacher, Roosevelt Elementary School

In addition to toys, our students receive a reminder that they are loved, wanted and supported, and they look forward to it every year. Their parents also feel a sense of relief in knowing that their children will be able to experience opening gifts they may not be able to provide due to other household responsibilities thanks to the generosity of the McCloudCares Foundation and its partners.

The Miracles in December program is an inspiration to everyone it touches and with more help from members within our community, it can touch even more lives than it already has.

Chanel Castro, Mother of Previous Miracles in December Program Participant

As a single mother of three children, the help our family received from the McCloud Cares Foundation was a blessing at a time when I couldn’t give my kids everything they wanted during the holidays. Years later, we still talk about the kindness Mr. McCloud and his colleagues extended to us and how it inspired us to find ways to help others who are in need.

Mrs. Genique Flournoy-Hamilton, Principal at Marian P. Thomas Charter High School of Culinary and Performing Arts Academy

You truly brought so much joy to the scholars, their families, and the staff of MPTCS PAC Academy. We were all blown away by the magnitude of thoughtfulness and generosity displayed through your giving. Hearing a scholar say he finally received the gift he had wished for the last two years and seeing another scholar smile who had not smiled since a family tragedy occurred two weeks ago was more than heart warming. The way you touched our lives will be remembered forever!! Thank you!!!!

Looking ahead, the McCloud Cares Foundation seeks to expand the reach of the
Miracles in December program to 1,000 children annually by 2023.
